Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Tekonsha T-One Trailer Wiring Harness which is gonna be a 4-pole on a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. Now if you are planning on towing any trailer with your Pathfinder you are gonna need to pick up some 4-pole wiring and that's gonna allow you to send your running lights, your brake lights, and turn signals to the lights on the trailer, keeping you safe and legal. But also a lot of accessories these days as far as bike racks or cargo carriers will also take a 4-pole if they do have LED wiring on them. So it's a good option to have installed on your vehicle and this one is super easy to get installed. It's plug and play, there's no splicing and you have everything you need in your kit to get this wired up. Pretty simple, you're gonna be plugging in to an interior plug that's gonna match to your new harness.
You're gonna plug a relay in and then there's another plug underneath the vehicle. You can just route your 4-pole over and then you're ready to go. So I'm gonna walk you through all the steps just to make sure that you get yours installed. Now for our installation, we're gonna be plugging into a factory plug that's located in this area. So to gain access to that we are gonna have to remove a few things in the interior.
So we'll go ahead and get this opened up. We have this plastic panel here and you can just lift this up and that should come out. We're also gonna be taking these 10 millimeter screws out. There's three of 'em, so that should be pretty easy. Just make sure that you hold onto your hardware doing this is gonna make reinstallation a lot easier.
In order to get this tray to be removed we need to take this threshold panel off. It's pretty easy. You're just gonna kind of wanna grab underneath it and sometimes the trim panel tool's really handy here but just with my fingers, I'm able to kind of pull this up a little bit and there's gonna be clips along the way so just work your way down, just pulling straight up and then we should be able to get this removed. It's gonna reveal that we have plastic push pins here. And the best way to kind of get these out, it looks like you can peel this back and slide it, but really if you just go under here with a trim panel tool or even a flathead screwdriver, just pry up straight that way you're not breaking your clips.
And with those popped out, this can be lifted up and the carpets attached to it. So we just need to put that back so it's out of the way. And that's gonna allow us to start gaining access here. Now we do have this cargo hook. We're gonna get the 10 millimeter that's located behind it removed. So just pull the hook down, pry that plastic back and it should drop down here. And there's our 10 millimeter so I'll go ahead and get that removed. And we can kind of keep this all together making reinstallation a little bit easier. So now we can start peeling this back. Now it's kind of tucked in the weather stripping but once we peel it back far enough, we're gonna be looking for a plug that has an end that's similar to this. So that's kind of what we're gonna be eyeballing as we peel this back. So there's a few clips here. Just kinda work your way over slightly. If you can see kind of right by the fender. Then you have that white plug just hanging down. So I'm gonna go ahead and grab my harness. We're gonna take the relay that's included in the kit. This should slide on. There's only one way that it can go but you should be able to hear this snap in place just like that and then this end will go into that plug. And you can see I have it plugged in. I'm gonna go back with the included zip ties and just zip tie it up to that factory wire loom. Now with everything's kind of zip tied in place that should keep it nice and secure. Now we're underneath our passenger side here. You can see where our exhaust is and our hitch so kind of by the bumper beam. You're gonna find this plug and I wanna pry mine out. It's just a plastic push pin that kind of goes into the frame. So just prying this out, it's gonna give us a little bit more room to work here. It does have this dummy plug that's in there. And to get this, you're gonna need to put a little bit of pressure here on the clip so it unlocks and pry it out. It took me a little bit just kind of putting some pressure and pulling on it. I did
