SCO Summit 2024: Pak PM & Putin Meet at SCO, Discuss Bilateral Ties
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Russian President Vladimir Putin ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit. The two leaders discussed the expansion of Pakistan and Russia's bilateral trade among other key issues. The meeting took place in Kazakhstan which is set to host the SCO summit on July 4 along with Tajikistan.
The SCO is a regional bloc consisting of nine members including India. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not attending the summit this year, however, India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will be representing the country. The theme of SCO Summit 2024, also called as Astana Summit, is "Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue - Striving for Sustainable Peace and Development".
