On holiday in Sofia, Bulgaria I spent a few hours at the station. Was really interesting to see all the different style of locos, rolling stock and liveries of different countries stock as it passed through.
Also had a massive shock when 1 particular loco pulled in. A UK Class 86! But not 1 but 3 of them. Once known for pulling Express passenger trains up and down the country, but now living out their days on freight duties in Bulgaria for Bulmarket.
They have a bit of cosmetic work to (I guess) conform to Bulgarian railways spec but still retain their name plates.
The lead loco has been immortalised as a hornby model in its original intercity swallow livery.
