British troops have flown into a port in eastern Sudan on a reconnaissance mission as the UK works out how to evacuate British nationals stranded in the crisis-hit country, Sky News understands.
Flight tracking websites showed a C-17 transport aircraft heading in the direction of Sudan, with soldiers landing at Port Sudan, on the Red Sea on Monday.
