The high-voltage election campaign for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls has come to an end as the voting to elect MPs to the 18th Lok Sabha will begin on Friday. Preparations are underway for the first round, where a total of 102 seats across 21 states and union territories will go to the polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP leaders, as well as opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Mamata Banerjee, and star campaigners held a series of campaigning events across the country. Starting from Friday, the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases, with the last one on June 1. The results will be announced on June 4.
