37670 St Blazey T&RSD and 37401 on the 2O72 09:09 First Great Western Bristol Temple Meads to Weymouth service. This was the final loco hauled service, and was more like a railtour than a service train! The normal local customers were quite bemused and confused at all of us railway enthusiasts on the train, with the pushing and shoving to get on, and the jolly attitude on the train!
We see the train sitting on Barton Hill depot, then we see the train passing through Temple Meads with clag, lucky I was on platform 4 and saw the light go to Amber! They were going off to run round for the service to arrive into Platform 11 and then off to the seaside! We then see my photos of the train arriving into platform 11. I then board the train and enjoy the bash to Westbury, shame there was no freight today :( , I didnt get a video on the train as it was full of enthusiasts! I then disembark at Westbury and see them leave with clag, minor thrash and a tone! I edited the video to lose the wasp that was friendly with my camera, I can add this if anyone wants it - just leave a comment please.
There is also a video of the MEGA thrash after the train is out of sight, however, my camera skills in this are poor, if you want to see it just ask please :)
I left Westbury and went back to Temple Meads for the NXEC HST, but found it wansnt running so I went home early.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed collecting the material for it and making this video. A top class day out, my first proper DB liveried loco and my first ETH 37 and 37/5 and also my first main line 37 trip!
Please enjoy this video, this is now history.
Regards
James Cleevely
