How to travel by car and ferry over 2,000 miles from Newcastle Upon Tyne to Zante (Zakynthos) Greece, without really seeing a single site on the way.
We went via evening ferry to Amsterdam, following morning 7am Amsterdam through Holland, on through Germany towards Munich, Austria (at night, just to make sure we saw none of the beauty of the Brenner Pass), down into Italy avoiding Lake Garda like the plague, to Ancona... slowest ferry in the world, just us and some gruff Italian and Greek truckers in skin tight 'FBI' T-Shirts (the ferries sister ship caught fire and went adrift a few weeks later) to Patras, drive to Killini, then a ferry to Zante.
Why rush the trip?
More time in Zante :)
