South Florida Theater Magazine takes a look back at the most glamorous event of the year, the Carbonell Awards! With never seen before interviews from the red carpet, South Florida Theater Magazine got an inside scoop of all the nerves and excitement felt that night. Let's look back at some nominees and see what the excitement was all about! This event took place on November 7th, 2022 at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center.

The Carbonell Awards fosters the artistic growth of professional theatre in South Florida by celebrating the excellence and diversity of our theatre artists, providing educational scholarships, and building audience appreciation and civic pride by highlighting achievements of our theatre community. More than 20 professional theatre companies in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties participate in the awards process every year. The Carbonell Awards also celebrate the accomplishments of local artistic leaders by presenting various Special Awards.
