Chocolate Mug Cake 🍫☕️
This chocolate mug cake recipe is perfect for a quick and easy, sweet treat! Once you get the ingredients together, it takes less than 5 minutes to make. It’s a great late-night or after meal treat that you can throw together last minute. It was definitely one of my favorite dessert recipes during medical school after a long day of studying. It’s a recipe that kids can make too! When you’re craving a treat and don’t have the time or energy, this is a great recipe for that sweet tooth. You can also make this gluten-free and/or vegan! Ingredients:
3 tbs white flour
3 tbs cocoa powder
3 tbs white sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
pinch of sea salt
4 tbs dairy or non-dairy milk
2 tbs oil or melted butter
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
toppings of your liking (powdered sugar, sweet glaze, chocolate chips, strawberries, chocolate syrup, etc.)
Sweet Glaze:
-2 tbs powdered sugar
-1/2 tsp milk or lemon juice
-few drops of vanilla extract
Instructions:
-In a mug add add flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, baking powder, and mix together well with spoon or mini whisk
-Add in oil/butter, milk, vanilla extract, and mix with spoon until barely any clumps left (we want a thick batter similar to brownie mix)
-Batter should be filling about 2/3 to 3/4 of the mug; Depending on the size of the mug, you can add an equal ratio of above ingredients to achieve this
-Sprinkle chocolate chips on top;
-Microwave for 40 seconds for a softer center, up to 60 seconds for a more firm center
-Add on additional toppings (sweet glaze, more chocolate chips, powdered sugar, chocolate syrup, marshmallows, etc.)
-Enjoy while warm!
