The incident where an extremely overweight man kills a much younger woman during sex is actually based on real life events of Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle and Virginia Rappe. Arbuckle used to be a very famous comedian in Hollywood at the time, and he was put on trial for the accidental death of Virginia. He was so obese that he ended up bursting her bladder due to the weight he put on her, and she later died from infection. Before she died, Virginia and her friend tried to extort money out of him by claiming he forced himself on her, but he was acquitted. He was not allowed to work in the industry until eleven years later, but he died at the age of 46.
