Stubbs! My good friend the hawksbill sea turtle. We go way back - I actually think I screamed a little in my snorkel when I saw him again for the first time after the hurricane! Have to admit it got me a bit emotional thinking about how much this awesome dude has survived in his life. You can always identify him by his one fin which is halfed. I always wonder how that happened. Maybe as a tiny hackling running away from a crab or a bird? Maybe as a bigger turtle being chased by the dreaded tax man? Either way it doesnt seem to slow him down (any more than usual haha)I regularly see this turtle around the bay and inside the ship wrecks or munching the outside like in this clip. If you look at my Shipwreck Paradise intro video he makes a cameo on a different shipwreck - the Ellion. This time he was on the shallower but much older Berwyn wreck. This wreck sank from a fire in 1919 and so it has a tonne of yummy sponges and growths he seems to like. Although clearly the other fish try to steal his lunch now and again! terribly entertaining and wow the visibility this day!! urgh!! I was struggling at times I wanted to just stay with him forever but he well surpasses my abilities and I had to come up for air now and again :)
Bit of a different clip this time lmk what yall think?! I'm trying to upload once a week usually on a sunday! Truth is I dive everyday and I have endless hard drives of GB of footage- This is but a lil snapshot now and again from my days spent underwater - Happy :)
