Broadgate, Coventry held a weekly open-air market. In 1867 a market hall was built with a clock tower. The clock is said to be the finest clock mechanism in the country, second only to that of big ben. A grand exhibition was held when the new market hall was opened, promoted as the crystal palace exhibition of the midlands. You can find out more about the market hall at [ Ссылка ]
Sadly, on November 14th, 1940 the Market was destroyed, like much of the city of Coventry.
This is what the area the market stood looks like now. [ Ссылка ]
