"We appeal to you, in the name of Allah and the Koran - release her. She was serving the widows and orphans here. If you do not free her this food will be stopped to us, we can not do any thing else."

STORYLINE:
Afghan widows who benefited from the work of the Italian aid worker, apparently being held hostage in Afghanistan, held rallies in Kabul on Monday demanding her release.
Also at the rally, held at aid agency CARE International's food distribution centre, the Italian ambassador in Kabul Ettore Francesco Sequi said the widows' rally was "very important."
Sharifa, one of the widows taking part in the rally said she feared if Cantoni was not freed, the food supplies the widows and orphans rely on would run out.
Widows held up photographs of Cantoni and banners, one of which read "Release Clementina."
Clementina Cantoni was abducted on May 16, dragged from a car by four armed men as she was being driven to her home in Kabul, the capital.
She has been in Afghanistan since 2002 and was working with aid agency CARE International on a project helping Afghan widows and their families.
The search for Cantoni goes on in the Afghan capital Kabul. Posters seeking information about her have been plastered across the city.
