Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says Qantas has launched a high court appeal over a ruling which deemed its 2020 sacking of more than 1,600 workers as “illegal”.
“At the time, Qantas said the sackings were motivated by COVID and the need to save costs,” Mr Greenwood said.
“The Transport Workers’ Union took legal action, claiming the action targeted a union-heavy part of the Qantas workforce.”
