The construction of Ganga Expressway, a fully access-controlled expressway, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on 18 December 2021.
The 594-km-long six-lane expressway will be built at a cost of over Rs 36,200 crore. The project is essential for omni-directional development of Uttar Pradesh and joins a long list of big-ticket infrastructure projects in the state.
The expressway, traversing 12 districts, will connect the eastern and western parts of UP.
After it is completed, Ganga Expressway will become the longest expressway in UP.
