Let's check out some of the differences between the Predator 224 and Predator 212

The Predator 212 has become the go-to engine for light duty powersports. It has a great reliability record and until recently has consistently had a great price. The regular price used to be in the $100 range but has crept up to $159 in 2022. The 212 often can still be found discounted to $119-$139 with a coupon.

In 2022, Harbor Freight released the Predator 224. The 224 sells for $199 regularly but the discounted prices that pop up on the 212 are rarely seen. The 224 Predator is made by Ducar and has a number of minor improvements over the 212. The big difference is a 3mm longer stroke that gives the 224 an additional 2 ft/lbs torque but only 0.1 additional horsepower.
