Signatory states to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change are meeting from 6 to 18 November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, for the 27th edition of the Conference of Parties.
The stakes are high, given increasingly alarming climate reports and the proliferation of natural disasters – growing proof of runaway climate change.
Yet, hopes for any breakthrough are limited by continuing geopolitical tensions, which could complicate efforts at negotiation and progress. So, what can we expect from the upcoming COP27?

Mathilde Bord-Laurans, head of the Climate and Nature department of Agence Française de Développement, discusses the progress made at COP26 and the issues to be tackled at COP27 – starting with climate finance. Drawing on its expertise and privileged relationship with the African continent, AFD works to provide concrete solutions to preserve nature – and the climate.
