This was my TV debut back in 2002. It was my first time speaking on camera and I was very nervous. My friend Susie was with me that day. She really helped by giving me one of her stuffed BeeBee dolls to hold on to off camera. (Her husband, Scott E. Sutton, writes and illustrates the Family of Ree series of children's books and Susie used to make dolls of the book's characters.)
It was a very interesting experience. Once I got used to the camera, I was able to observe more of how the filming was done. And, I eventually loosened up enough that I could talk.
