The Hybrid has the same 2.5L 4-cylinder but it’s matched to an ECVT with Toyota’s hybrid synergy drive; it produces 219 combined horsepower and the plug-in option, the Prime has 68 km/45 miles of EV range with a combined 302 horsepower. Both gas models of these popular small SUVs come with similar standard features like heated front seats, cloth upholstery, the Toyota RAV4 has a 7” touchscreen, available 8” and 9”, the Kia Sportage standard 8” available 12.3”. The Sportage gets either a 4.2” or 12.3” digital driver display and the RAV4 4.2” or 7” depending on the trim you choose. Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto is standard on the Sportage but the larger touchscreen gets wired. Wired is only available on the RAV4. Some available features for both vehicles on the higher trims include, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a power tailgate, driver seat memory, a power passenger seat and a surround-view monitor. The Kia Sportage FWD gas model starts at $28,395 CAD/$25,990 USD and AWD $30,395 CAD/$27,790 USD. It comes in a little less than the Toyota RAV4 FWD at $28,990 CAD/$26,525 USD and AWD $31,090 CAD/$27,925 USD. The Kia Sportage X-Line Limited top trim is $40,995 CAD, X-Pro Prestige $36,790 USD and the Toyota RAV4 Limited $42,990 CAD/$35,025 USD. The RAV4 Hybrid starts at $33,350 CAD/$29,075 USD and the Sportage Hybrid $35,995 CAD /$27,290 USD.
The RAV4 plug-in hybrid starts at $44,990 CAD/$39,800 USD. Pricing for the Sportage PHEV is not available at this time.
