Likely the most vilified practice in hunting is the chasing of predators with hounds. It’s the thing that gets the anti-hunter brigade up in arms against what we do and how we do it. It’s likely the combination of predator hunting that has a nuance unto itself given an ancient, deep-seated, tribal connection between alpha predators and humans, and the domestication of the dog to the comfort of our houses and our souls. Those two issues are like oil and water and there is disdain and ethical questions thrown around combining the two. As a result, it’s imperative as hunters to communicate who a Lion Houndsman really is.
Lionheart was built to show a different side of lion houndsmen. A side that most people never get to see. A side that shows the relationship with their hounds, and their intrinsic reason for why they do what they do. Now available online, join us as we follow 5 families through the west to capture their spirit of why they are lion houndsmen.
We were able to complete this project through the gracious support from the 100 Hunter Legacy Fund of Safari Club International Foundation, the Weatherby Foundation, as well as several anonymous private donors.
Watch it. Understand it. Love it. And most importantly share it.
