ESP32 boards, in my opinion, are the best Arduino alternative hardware. Not only they can be used almost like any other Arduino board, ESP32 have built-in WiFi, Bluetooth, and are crazy cheap. On top of that, many boards have built-in OLEDs, LiPo chargers or LoRa radio modems. Some of them even have GPS receivers and full-blown power management circuits like AXP192. Have I mentioned that ESP32 has 2 cores and runs FreeRTOS? Take that, ATmega328!
