Crossrail is not just about delivering a world-class new railway, it is about leaving a lasting skills legacy for the industry. The apprentices we have working across the project today highlight the rewards of investing in high-quality skills training.
Crossrail has used responsible contract arrangements to create hundreds of apprenticeships since construction began in 2009. The project has created over 500 apprenticeships, well above our original target of 400 apprenticeships over the lifetime of the project.
By working with our suppliers we have helped young people begin long and successful careers in an exciting and nationally important sector.
