For many families, Seattle's McGilvra Elementary is a community of strong relationships and student learning during what's been a challenging transition out of the pandemic.
Parents are furious over the district's two consolidation models that could close as many as 21 schools, including McGilvra, amid a budget crisis: a deficit of $90 million year over year. The goal is to save as much as $31.5 million in operating costs.
