Vladimir Putin has signed a revised nuclear doctrine which says that Russia would consider using nuclear weapons if it has been targeted with conventional missiles with the support of a nuclear power like the USA.

This follows President Joe Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia with US-supplied long-range missiles.
