Two farmers committed suicide due after being under pressure due to loans. In Maharashtra’s Akola city, a debt-ridden farmer, identified as Jaiprakash Kharole (35), allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison. According to police officials, a suicide note was found in the pocket of the deceased farmer, which said he was taking the extreme step due to mounting debts. Meanwhile, another farmer, identified as Kaleshwar Mahto, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Ranchi due to non-payments of loan. Brother of the deceased farmer said that Mahto was under pressure after the bank refused to accept half amount of the loan his wife had gone to pay off.
