Founded as United Western Recorders in a converted supermarket in 1961 and home to hits like Frank Sinatra´s “Strangers in the Night”, the studio was remodeled by star designer Philippe Starck and opened in 2009 as EastWest Studios. Since then, over 170 records produced there have received a Grammy nomination, making it one of the most successful studios in the world. Main contributor to EastWest´s iconic sound: The C. Bechstein D 280 concert grand.
