Tory Sandesh Guilhane tried to apologise for his late arrival to the Chamber today and was met with an SNP backlash over his reason.

Mr Guilhane said: 'Apologies Presiding Officer for being a few minutes late I was stuck for almost two hours on the SNP nationalised Scotrail.'

SNP MSPs were not happy and the Presiding Officer had to step in.
