What is your top variegated plant?
There are many monstera species with unique forms of variegation. Variegation is when the plant develops non green pigmentation (usually white or cream colored) where chlorophyll is not present. However, not all variegation is the same 😰
Some variegation is considered “stable”, meaning it is more consistent across the entire plant. The Monstera Thai Constellation is a good example of that since it a tissue culture, and is likely to show some kind of variegation across all of its leaves. The variegation is a “galaxy” of milky, cream-colored tones and it typically grows faster than albos ✨
The Monstera Albo on the other hand is “unstable” variegation, meaning it can be very inconsistent and even disappear under certain conditions. I’ve had variegated cuttings that revert back to being completely green, so now I chop off that green growth when I see it. The Albo is a brighter white and is a slower grower, but it is still so stunning 🤩
