Being a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient can be a very confusing. Cancer is a serious and complicated disease. To help straighten things out, Dr. Jiaxin Niu shares some advice on what newly diagnosed breast cancer patients should ask their medical oncologists. He feels that because cancer treatment tends to be very comprehensive it is important for patients to find an oncologist they can truly trust.
Dr. Niu advises patients to ask their oncologist if they are taking a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. He says they need to have a team of oncology specialists working together in order to achieve the best outcome. "Without a dedicated team of professional staff it is almost impossible for any medical oncologist to deliver the best quality care," Dr. Niu says.
