There are many different foods that a person can be allergic to, really anything. But the most common things that people are allergic to include cow's milk, eggs, peanuts, soy, wheat, nuts, fish, and shellfish. When a person has an allergic reaction the following symptoms can occur, some are mild and some can be more severe and require immediate medical attention. You might see a rash, or just have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, things like an upset stomach, or it can even cause throat tightness, or difficulty breathing. If you suspect your baby has reacted to something you've given them, stop giving it and talk with your pediatrician and they can determine if further investigation or treatments are warranted especially if your child's symptoms aren't getting better or are getting worse. In addition to food allergies there are food intolerances. It's not actually the body's immune system responding to something but it's just their bodies having a hard time digesting whatever they're eating. An example of this would be lactose intolerance. They're not allergic to cow's milk but their body can't digest a form of sugar that's in cow's milk. Because of that different precautions have to be taken. Either way though, again, talk with your doctor if you have concerns and they can help you out.
