The Man Overboard Drill (also known as a Crew Overboard Drill).
I was invited out on a friend’s boat for some tips and to improve my sailing skills. Andy Wright is a very qualified Yacht Master Instructor for the RYA and based in Plymouth Sound and runs a school called Sailwright.
This video shows you the most effective way to get your crew member back on board. We show you the best way to stop a boat quickly under sail and remain close to the casualty so you can ensure a speedy and safe recovery. We also look at how to sail off the anchor with out the use of the engine.
