Coaching for Geeks travelled to EGX Rezzed in London to interview Mark ‘Turps’ Turpin, the CEO of the YOGSCAST, to get his tips on getting into the gaming industry through creating a game through your own vision, as well as on their new food-based indie game: The Breakfast Club.
The Breakfast Club is the most frustrating way to make the most important meal of the day. Developed by Foggy Box Games and published by the YOGSCAST, it is an indie physics-based food-themed couch party game that both creates (and ruins) friendships. It brings back the “offline frustration between friends” aspect of gaming combining the likes of “Gang Beasts” and “I am Bread” to create the movie pun party game that is The Breakfast Club.
Up to 4 players (both online multiplayer and offline versus and co-op) are thrown into the game and are required to create indicated meals before their opponents. To ensure that this is an on brand YOGSCAST game, you can also sabotage your opposition to disrupt their process and snag the crown! Do anything and anything you can to make sure you get yourself a nice juicy burger.
We also asked Turps a little bit of advice on getting into the gaming industry and how he, at the YOGSCAST, decides which games interest him and which games have potential. We also talked a little bit about what an individual can do to start on making their own game.
