This is a restored Federal Signal Aerodynic, model MEAH-T. It has rear amber lights making it California spec’d, in addition to a takedown light. It came from the Fremont, California Police Department.

The rotators are NOT original and the are NOT period correct. I received the bar without any original wiring, or any of the original gear driven rotators, motor, belts, or drive gears. It came with these LED pods installed which looked terrible, so I installed these Code 3 rotators to replace them. They rotate a little too fast to be comparable to factory, but they’re better than the LED pods that it came with.

I installed a Federal Signal wig-wag flasher to alternate the bulbs on the right and the left.

I restored the domes by wet sanding with 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 3000 Grit sandpaper — followed by polishing with Hard Cut, Medium Cut, and Fine cut polishing compound finished with a layer of wax for shine.
