Road Trip Cars - Test Drive Review 1976 Chevy Laguna S-3

Growing up as a kid, road trips were always a fun thing for me. Mainly because of my dad. He loved to get in the car and just drive. We would go for miles and miles just exploring the country side. Along the way, we would find a place to eat, get out and take a picture and even make home movies. We had a great love for the automobile, traveling the great American Road, and for its people, sights and sounds. So, I guess this channel is in part dedicated to my dad and to all those who love road trips like me.

This Test Drive Review is in the 1976 Chevy Laguna S-3. I am driving it to test the Gabriel ultra shocks. I wanted a smooth ride but also wanted better control around corners. With the old shocks, would have to let the car coast around the corners. Now I can power through. It is now a better driving car. The car has it's historic roots. It was widely used in the 70's by NASCAR. Drivers like Cale Yarborough, Darrel Waltrip, Benny Parsons and among others, Dale Earnhardt. It won several championships and many races. 1977 was the last year NASCAR allowed the Laguna to race. They considered a car with an un-fair advantage do to it's sloped nose and rear aero coupe styling. My dad had the car since it was new and now, it does need some love. Down the road we will be adding a new motor with twice the factory horsepower and almost double the torque. Even today with it's torque, it drives well with good acceleration. However updating the motor and also adding a four speed overdrive transmission, we will be getting the car rolling to do well with today's modern cars.
