"I make seven dollars and 68 cents per week working in the mill and if system keeps up we will all be on the streets and no means to live "

Woman seated with children , saying

" I have three children to support, I make 4,84 per week. I would like to make enough money to educate my children , have a decent home , plenty to eat , without having to call on government relief "

" The N.R.A (National recovery administration) and the cotton textile code did more overnight for the 460.000 employees in our industry than have been accomplished in a generation. We object most vigorously
however to the attitude of a group of men who with utter disregard for the orderly procedure of the National Recovery Act and the code , and without the consent of the vast majority of those who they assume to represent , set themselves up as the spokesman for all textile workers .In this time of the nations difficulties , we appeal to the common sense of the people for the support of the orderly processes of the National Recovery Act as against industrial warfare "
