People held candles and visited with neighbours at a distance to pay respects to those lost over the past year and acknowledge the sacrifices made on the one-year anniversary of the U.K.'s first COVID-19 lockdown.

As people came together, landmarks in England and Wales, including the London Eye and Cardiff Castle, lit up to also acknowledge the anniversary.
