We had a great day in Cheyenne, Wyoming looking for fun and cheap things to do in town. Our first stop was to the Wyoming State Museum near downtown Cheyenne. The museum was established in 1895 and collects a wide range of objects, including history, art, anthropology, and natural history. Admission to the museum is FREE. Wyoming State Museum: [ Ссылка ]
Next, we visited the Wyoming State Capitol, just one block away from the State Museum. The capitol is one of 20 state capitols designated as a National Historic Landmark. It is a beautiful building that dates back to 1887 and admission to the capitol is FREE. Wyoming State Capitol: [ Ссылка ]
The Cheyenne Depot Museum is located in the former Union Pacific Depot in downtown Cheyenne. While it is FREE to enter the building and view several areas of the structure, entering the museum will cost you $10. Cheyenne Depot Museum: [ Ссылка ]
Cowgirls of the West Museum and Emporium is an amazing museum with lots of information on legendary women of the west! Messenger's Old West Museum is located in a storage unit business, but don't let the outside fool you - it's an amazing museum with lots of old west memorabilia procured by the Messenger family! Old carriages, antique cars, wagons, blacksmith shop and more are waiting for you! It is FREE to visit the museum (but they do accept donations)! Messenger's Old West Museum: [ Ссылка ]
The Wyoming Governor's Mansion State Historic Site features the former home of Wyoming governor's until 1976 and your visit is FREE. Many of the rooms are decorated to represent how the home would have looked in different times during the 20th century. It is a beautiful building with lots of information on former governors, including Nellie Taylor Ross, the first female governor of Wyoming (and first female governor in the United States)! We stayed about 30 miles west of Cheyenne during our time in the area at Vedauwoo Glen Road Dispersed Camping. Camping here is FREE (there is an area nearby that has a paid area for parking, but we didn't go into the park) and the area is beautiful! Vedauwoo Glen Road Dispersed Camping: [ Ссылка ]
