When The Biggest Loser premiered in 2004, it gave contestants the chance to compete against each other in a weight loss competition, with the winner taking home $250,000. For 16 seasons, contestants did everything they could to shed weight quickly, and the extreme weight loss methods were quite controversial, with the controversy only increasing when it was seen how quickly former contestants often put the weight back on.
