The Church of the "Stavropoleos" Monastery
The church was originally part of the Stavropoleos Monastery, which was founded by the Greek monk Ioanichie in the 18th century.
The church is built in the Brâncovenesc style, which is a Romanian architectural style that combines local, Byzantine, Ottoman, Renaissance, and Baroque elements.
"Saint Anthony" Church
The church was founded during the reign of Prince Mircea Ciobanul in the 16th century.
It is dedicated to Saint Anthony, who is the patron saint of children and is believed to protect them from diseases.
"Saint Nicholas" Church
The Saint Nicholas Russian Church was initiated in 1905.
It was primarily intended for the use of the Russian legation employees and Russians living in Bucharest at that time. It features a characteristic Russian religious architecture style with seven onion domes, which were initially covered in gold.
"Kretzulescu" Church
The church was commissioned in 1720-1722.
It was built in the Brâncovenesc style, which is characterized by its unique architectural elements and decorative motifs.
Originally, the exterior of the church was painted, but during the restoration work carried out in 1935-1936, the façade was reconstructed using brick.
The frescoes on the porch of the church date back to the original structure, while the interior frescoes were painted by Gheorghe Tattarescu in 1859-1860.
Catedrala Mantuirii Neamului
The People's Salvation Cathedral, this massive Eastern Orthodox cathedral is under construction and is expected to be completed in 2025. Upon completion, it will be the world's largest and tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral. The cathedral's architecture blends traditional and contemporary styles, and its interior will be adorned with mosaics.
