Join me on an unforgettable 87 nautical mile journey around the beautiful Narragansett Bay. Starting from the historic town of Newport, Rhode Island, we set sail towards Narragansett, cruising up the west side all the way to Providence, RI.
Experience the thrill of navigating through the intricate canals, where the rough wind tests our mettle, slowing down our boat and turning our trip into a challenging adventure. Despite the trials, the beauty of the bay and the allure of the open water keep us going.
Our adventure doesn’t stop there. We make a detour to the Maritime Museum in Massachusetts, immersing ourselves in the rich history of seafaring and getting up close with majestic ships. Leaving Fall River, we head down into the wind - the hardest part of our journey.
We then venture south through the Sakonnet River, just south of Newport. Brace yourself as we travel west, facing the biggest swells as we approach the ocean. This leg of the journey is not for the faint-hearted, but the breathtaking views make it all worthwhile.
This epic trip took us 13 hours, consuming just 4.3 gallons of gas. It’s a testament to the spirit of adventure and the joy of boating. So, come aboard and let’s set sail!
