This year seems to be the year of the short-travel 29er with multiple cross country and trail bikes being released. The Scalpel name is synonymous with being a fast climber. The SE is no exception. It flies uphill and surprises on the downhill. We tested the Scalpel SE 1 at Snowbird, UT. It is fast enough to be your XC race bike but has enough travel for everyday use.
