I love the refreshing taste of water. However, if you like to add more flavor to your water, I recommend infusing your water with natural flavors, rather than artificial sweeteners.
Best Healthy Ingredients To Naturally Flavor Your Water
Here are a few of my favorite healthy ingredients to naturally infuse your water with delicious and refreshing flavor:
Cucumber slices
Ginger slices
Fruit
Berries
Apples
Watermelons
Oranges
Cinnamon sticks
Mint
Basil
Limes
Lemons
Here are 4 delicious flavor infused water recipes using different variations of these natural flavoring ingredients.
Berry Infused Ginger Cucumber Water
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Servings : 1
INGREDIENTS
2-4 slices cucumber (2 thick or 4 thin slices)
2-4 slices ginger root (2 thick or 4 thin slices)
1 handful berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries) (fresh or frozen)
Water (enough to fill up your water bottle or glass)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. In a glass or water bottle add 2 thick or 4 thin cucumber slices, 2 thick or 4 thin ginger root slices, and a handful of berries including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries.
2. Fill up your re-usable glass or water bottle with water, then stir it up.
Raspberry Lime Infused Water Recipe
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Servings : 1
INGREDIENTS
1 handful raspberries (frozen or fresh)
1-2 slices lime (1 thick or 2 thin peeled slices)
Few large basil leaves
Water (enough to fill up your water bottle or glass)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a glass or water bottle add 1 handful of frozen or fresh raspberries, 1 thick or 2 thin peeled slices of lime, and a few large basil leaves.
2. Fill up your re-usable glass or water bottle with water, then stir it up.
Apple Cinnamon Infused Water Recipe
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Servings : 1
INGREDIENTS
2-4 slices apple (2 thick or 4 thin slices)
1/2 stick Cinnamon
Water (enough to fill up your water bottle or glass)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a glass or water bottle add 2 thick or 4 thin slices of apple and a 1/2 cinnamon stick.
2. Fill up your re-usable glass or water bottle with water, then stir it up.
Mint Infused Lemon Water
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Servings : 1
INGREDIENTS
2-4 slices ginger root (2 thick or 4 thin slices)
1-2 slices lemon (or lime) (1 thick or 2 thin peeled slices)
Few leaves mint (including stem)
Water (enough to fill up your water bottle or glass)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a glass or water bottle add 2 thick or 4 thin slices of ginger root, 1 thick or 2 thin peeled slices of lemon or lime, and a few mint leaves including the stem.
2. Fill up your re-usable glass or water bottle with water, then stir it up.
Important Recipe Notes:
For maximum flavor, store the water in the fridge the night before to allow the flavors to infuse into the water and really come alive.
If you make it during the day, simply store the water in the fridge for 10-60 minutes to allow the flavor to infuse into the water.
If you’re in a rush, you can mash the ingredients with a fork to release the flavor and infuse the water quicker.
Then simply leave the ingredients in your water bottle all day as you keep refilling it to hit your water consumption goals.
Then at the end of the day, throw out the ingredients, wash out your water bottle, then repeat the recipe, or use another one of our flavor infused recipes for the next day.
