A few miles west of New York, the city of Newark, New Jersey, has reinstated restrictions including a curfew on non-essential businesses and a ban on gatherings of more than 10 people as the area experiences a surge of Covid-19 cases. Lines are getting longer at testing sites across the city. "A lot of these people are gathered together at parties, no masks. Shame on them," says Jerry Dascoli, a business owner in the city.
