Children experiencing anxiety often feel stuck in one or multiple areas of their lives. In this webinar, Julie Billiart Schools’ Art Therapists outline a few strategies to try at home to “unstick” our kids and promote mental and emotional growth through creative expression. Children may lack the language or cognitive development to regulate and to verbalize how they are feeling. These simple but effective strategies and activities can help anxious children express and soothe themselves. Creating a beautiful work of art is not the ultimate goal, however, it often is a happy result.
Holly Queen and Diane Hughes are Nationally Board-Certified Art Therapists at Julie Billiart Schools. Julie Billiart Schools are a network of three, private K-8 schools that educate and empower children with mild to moderate autism, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, and other learning differences.
Attendees will walk away with:
- Overview on “What is Art Therapy?” and how it benefits all children
- An understanding of how art can ease anxiety immediately and over time
- Resources for continued learning and therapy
