Clip of Denise Naslund’s mother, Eleanor Rose, in the 1986 made-for-television film, The Deliberate Stranger, based on the best-selling novel about mass murder Ted Bundy. Nasulnd was the only victim of Ted’s to have her real name used in this film. Her mother was played by Rita Zohar, and the role is quite emotionally penetrating and memorable.
With the new Ted Bundy movie (with Zac Efron) on the way, it’s another unfortunate opportunity where people forget his victims. Take this opportunity to remember Denise Naslund, and all the other girls who met their untimely death at Ted’s hands. Let’s not forget the victims families too… As demonstrated in this movie, the families of the victims where deeply effected by the killing of their loved ones.
Next time you think of Ted Bundy, think of his victims and their families instead.
It should be noted that Naslund’s mother (and many of the Washington victims familes) never got to give their daughter proper burials. The King County authorities withheld the remains of the identified girls from their families (so they could preserve the remains for evidence purposes). They where later lost/destroyed by the authorities under unknown circumstances.
