Qin AI 4G VoLTE Feature Phone: 4G VoLTE Jio Phone Killer From Xiaomi?

Xiaomi’s latest feature phone comes with a lot promise. Its tough to call the Qin Ai phone as a feature phone, especially considering the fact that it runs on Android OS. The handset apparently, is powered by a customized version of Android, which Xiaomi fondly calls as the Mocor 5 OS. With that said, the design of the Qi Ai phone is very similar to that of any modern-day feature phone. It not only come with a candy bar design and a T4 keypad but also misses out on the touch functionality; which is otherwise present in the current generation Jio Phone.

As the name suggests, the all-new feature phone from Xiaomi comes with a range of AI tricks down its sleeve. The Qin AI 4G VoLTE feature phone comes with real-time translation support to 17 languages. It can also reply to your questions and tell bedtime stories to your kid. Moreover, the presence of Android onboard means you can easily download just any application on the phone. It’s, however, worth highlighting that the Mi feature phone misses out on support for Google Playstore, which is due to its exclusivity to China. That said, users can still download all the apps, including WhatsApp and Facebook from any third party source. Besides, you can sideload any apk on to the phone, all thanks to its Android genetics.

In terms of hardware specifications, the Qin AI 4G VoLTE feature phone packs a 2.8 inch (320 x 240p) TFT display. It is powered by an ARM Cortex quad-core processor with cores clocked at 1.3GHz each. This is clubbed with 256MB RAM and 512MB of onboard storage. Furthermore, the phone comes with an option for memory expansion via microSD card.

Another highlighting feature of the all-new Mi Qin AI phone is the presence of a hybrid SIM slot, out which one comes with support for 4G VoLTE. This is pretty rare for a feature phone of its stature. The rest of the features of the handset include the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack, AC3 1511 speakers, Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth. Apart from that, an interesting omission from the Qin Ai feature phone is the absence of any form of cameras. The handset features neither a rear or a front camera, which is something pretty surprising in modern day scenarios. Xiaomi claims that it hardware partner decided to omit the camera keeping in the mind the security of the phone users.
Qin AI 4G VoLTE Feature Phone: Price, Availability
Xiaomi will be selling the Qin AI 4G VoLTE feature phone exclusively in China on its crowdfunding platform. It is priced at 199 Yuan (Rs 1,999) in the country. We can expect Xiaomi to bring this phone to India provided it tastes some success in its homeland. Just in case, it does the Qi Ai phone could become a hit in India, and could break the market monopoly enjoyed by the Jio Phone.
