Stockholm’s Club Culture is facing the biggest challenge in its history. In March of 2020, all of Stockholm’s‘s nightlife was shut down to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The existence of many of the places that give Stockholm its identity is now threatened. As a reaction to the closing of all Stockholm clubs and to the rest of the world being in quarantine, Stockholm showed its support and solidarity by bringing the biggest possible digital club and music festival for 24 hours June 6th – United We Stream Sthlm.

Department Festival has in a short period of time become an established part of the Scandinavian electronic music scene. It all started in 2017 with a two day block party in the meatpacking district of Stockholm. The industrial surroundings paired with a long list of exciting acts has created a unique atmosphere.
Kornél Kovács, one of the founders of the record company Studio Barnhus, released the album Stockholm Marathon in 2019 which was celebrated both internationally and internationally – not least by the Stockholmers themselves.
