For those that might be unaware transit security has a history of targ3eting and har@ssing unhoused people including k1cking them off buses even in freezing winter conditions and f1ning them $173 which goes up to $273 if not paid within a year for not having a ticket even though TransLink isn't afford@ble for everyone and public transit should be accessible to all.
TransLink is a company which has been bailed out multiple times to the tune of probably a billion dollars of public funding including recently receiving about 400 million dollars yet the former CEO and likely the current one had/have exorbitant salaries and there is a strong likelihood that they receive generous bonuses along with executives of the company then they turn around and try to r1p off members of the public by likely providing directives to transit police and security to fine as many people as possible.
There are some people that intentionally try to sn3ak onto transit but there are also people that for example might be new to the country and aren't familiar with the system so they may not realize that the tickets expire in about an hour and a half and accidentally have an expired ticket yet most transit police and security will fine them instead of taking an education first approach as they are supposed to.
It seems that transit security have ticket qu0tas and are incentivized to give out as many fines as possible which is why many of them are so eager to fine and rather than taking an education first approach immediately escalate to ticketing though of course they won't admit it.
Some transit security such as the unprofessional one in this video refuse to identify themselves or intentionally try to conceal their employee ID's which is on their uniform even though they are publicly funded and obligated to identify their employee ID when requested to do by a member of the public.
There are other videos on this channel of transit security as well as transit police among other things h@ssling vuln3r@ble people and st@king out certain bus routes and stations in an effort to fine as many people as possible to raise additional rev3nue for TransLink and to gain financial or other rewards for meeting fine quot@s.
