And now, for something totally different...As much as I love to do LS installs, I love old cars as well. I do find it hard to just leave something alone. In this video, I am working on a friend of mines 1940 Ford. It came equipped with a factory dual point distributor and my friend wanted to upgrade to an electronic unit so eliminate his hassle in setting the points.
I installed a Stromberg eFire electronic distributor with matching custom plug wires and a Pertronix coil. The conversion included a coil bracket, plugs and some misc parts to complete the install. The old Ford is also receiving (in the near future) a new radiator and brake master cylinder (the result of being parked way too long!)
As I mentioned in the video, I would let you know the prices of stuff...
the Stromberg eFire distributor was ~$400
plug wires $65
plugs $22
coil $30
coil bracket $15
distributor adapter $20
ground strap $20
misc. wiring, soldering...
all prices are approximate, most everything came from Speedway Automotive.
