Sunday, our Eastern Mediterranean cruise came to an end in CIVITAVECCHIA (Lazio region, Italy).
We took the RCI complimentary SHUTTLE BUS from the Cruise Terminal into the city of Civitavecchia (short ride but the traffic was bit heavy that Sunday morning).
Then we bought our train tickets for Rome (Roma Stazione Termini) at a kiosk (labeled "Change"/ Internet/ Money transfer) located very close to the shuttle bus station.
After a stroll along the sunny Promenade, we walked for merely 15-20 minutes to the local Train Station; validated our tickets and off we went to beautiful ROME !
P.S. If you're lucky, you can get a local to carry your bags to the train station for only 2 EUROs (see one of the shots depicting one man in action, pushing his cart with couple of pieces of luggage).
The large and entertaining group from Spain got off before us - at Roma Ostiense...
Fun bunch!
Finally, note that in Civitavecchia there is NO elevator, so the only inconvenience was having to carry the bags up and down the stairs...
Otherwise, easy trip to Rome!
(arrived close to 12noon in Rome - Stazione Termini - and took a taxi to the hotel)
